Fitness Onboarding eLearning experience

This interactive eLearning module introduces potential clients to SPEC brand, mission, and products.

Responsibilities: Instructional Design, eLearning Development, Inhouse Training Workshop, UX Writing

Target Audience: 20-35 white collar workers interested in improving their physical wellbeing.

Tools: Articulate Rise, Vyond, Miro, Facebook Business Manager.

Budget: Low

Client: Spec

Year: 2021

Overview

The client approached me from a general design consultation perspective. They asked for help with the content and copy for the user onboarding experience. It quickly became clear that the amount of information, mind shift required and the robust process with which the users had to become quickly familiar would require an effective, brief and reassuring learning experience.

I offered to develop an interactive onboarding experience as a chance to create something with Articulate 360, a popular eLearning development suite. More important, my personal beliefs and interests align with the mission of SPEC so I was eager to help spread their message with tailored resources. This was an against the clock project, as the client was close to his first cohort release date. The onboarding experience was set in motion in less than a week.

Process

Instructional Design

The process began defining with the client the brief for the brand and product. It was important to have a clear understanding of the mission, vision and values as well as comprehension of the user persona : triggers, needs and pain points. The learning objective was to deliver the information needed to start the program in a meaningful, brief and reassuring interaction.

With the learning objective defined I reviewed the existing documentation and developed guidelines both for the ux writing and visual content more aligned with the product and user learning context. It was important to check back with the client to make sure the interactions and resources proposed were valuable and respected the client's vision.
